Rob is currently Non-executive Director Air Canada, Non-executive Director Michael Hill International, Executive Chairman Zalm Therapeutics, Strategic Advisor to Craggy Range wines and Director Fitout Solutions. Rob is also Strategic Advisor to the New Zealand Government on Re-entry into the Pike River Coal Mine, the NZ business representative on the Bali Process Forum and an honorary advisor to the Asia New Zealand Foundation.
Rob is the former Chief Executive Officer of Air New Zealand (2005-2012) and also served as Chairman and CEO of Icebreaker (2013 – 2017). Most recently Rob has worked with the NZ Government to help shape the COVID-19 response through liaison with the private sector and now advises the Prime Minister on the economic recovery plan.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Honours degree and an Honorary Doctorate of Commerce degree from Canterbury University. In the 2021 New Year’s Honours Rob was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to business and tourism.
Karl is an International strategic sports administrator who has played a key role building the ASB Classic, All Blacks, ATP, WTA, Australian Open and FIFA brands globally.
He has true international experience having held management level positions in China, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand.
Karl has an understanding of the commercialisation of sport and events having developed and managed global sponsorships for blue chip brands including Rolex, BMW, Sony, adidas, Jaguar, Virgin, Coca-Cola, BNP Paribas, IBM and Emirates on major sporting properties.
He has in depth knowledge of rights delivery and the ability to integrate assets across a multitude of business areas. A proven track record of delivering large scale marketing partnerships having generated more than $100 million in new revenues across sponsorship, merchandise and media platforms.
Angela is Chief Executive of Tramco Group, a privately owned New Zealand property investment company that includes significant large‐scale commercial and industrial land holdings, including the Viaduct Harbour precinct on Auckland’s waterfront.
Prior to this, Angela held a number of senior executive positions over a 10‐year period with Foodstuffs, most recently being General Manager Property Development for Foodstuffs North Island. This was preceded by a 10 year legal career, including roles with Chapman Tripp, the Crown Law Office and Simpson Grierson.
Angela is also a non‐executive director. She is currently an Independent Director and Deputy Chair of the NZ Institute of Economic Research (NZIER); Independent Director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ); and is an Independent Director and Chair of the People Committee of Metro Performance Glass.
Dr Lucy Hone is an Adjunct Senior Professor at the University of Canterbury, a co-director of the New Zealand Institute of Wellbeing & Resilience, a published academic researcher and best-selling author and blogger for Psychology Today.
Having been trained by the thought-leaders in wellbeing science, at the University of Pennsylvania, Lucy went on to attain her PhD in public health at AUT University in Auckland. She now assists organisations – from government departments, to leading law firms and schools – to design and implement wellbeing and resilience initiatives creating sustained and meaningful change.
A member of the NZAPP Executive Committee, conference convenor for Wellbeing in Education NZ, and New Zealand’s only representative of the International Positive Education Network (IPEN), Lucy’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed academic journals including the Journal of Positive Psychology, Social Indicators Research, the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, the International Journal of Wellbeing and NZ Journal of Human Resources Management.
Her best-selling book Resilient Grieving is published in NZ, Australia, the US and England and her latest book, The Educators’ Guide to Whole-school Wellbeing is published by Taylor & Francis London and is a global publication for the UK, Asia, US and Australasia.
Her TED talk, the Three Secrets of Resilient People, has had over 3 million views and has been translated into 15 different languages. After being promoted to the official TED platform, Dr Lucy’s TEDx has been recognised globally as one of the top 20 TED Talks of 2020.
